Willow, YouTube Partner To Offer Free Team USA T20 World Cup Coverage
India-West News Desk
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA – Willow by Cricbuzz announced February 6 that it will offer free coverage of Team USA matches in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup on YouTube, marking the first time World Cup matches will be available at no cost to viewers in the United States and Canada on the platform.
The tournament runs from February 7 through March 8. Coverage begins February 7 with the USA vs. India match at 8:30 a.m. ET. All four Team USA matches will be streamed free on YouTube through Willow’s partnership with the platform. The same matches will also be available free on Willow and Cricbuzz.
As part of the initiative, Willow has partnered with Jomboy Media to produce an alternate, creator led telecast for select matches. The Jomboy Media telecast will be available on the Jomboy Media YouTube channel for USA vs. India and USA vs. Pakistan. The alternate feed will feature commentary from Jimmy “Jomboy” O’Brien, former England international and 2019 Cricket World Cup winner Liam Plunkett, and analyst and content creator Adam Bannon, offering live reactions and discussion alongside the match action.
Willow said the alternate telecast is intended to complement the traditional broadcast by providing a more conversational format while retaining cricket analysis and context.
Beyond the four Team USA matches, all ICC Men’s T20 World Cup games will be available on Willow’s linear channel through the YouTube TV NFL RedZone with Sports Plus package. Matches will also be accessible via Willow’s Primetime Channels service through the Willow YouTube channel.
In addition to its World Cup programming, Willow by Cricbuzz is introducing updates across its website, mobile applications, and connected TV apps.
