Mindy Kaling Is Glam Fab At The Actor Awards

LOS ANGELES, CA – The multi-talented Mindy Kaling attended the 32nd annual Actor Awards on March 1, marking her first in-person appearance at the ceremony since 2014.

The event, held at the Shrine Auditorium and hosted by Kristen Bell, was broadcast live on Netflix. Organizers implemented a specific dress code for the first time in the awards’ 31-year history, with the theme “Reimagining Hollywood Glamour From the ’20s and ’30s.”

Kaling, who seemed to have lost more weight than ever, wore a modern black velvet gown by designer Yara Shoemaker Couture, that caught the eye. The strapless design featured a structural peplum corset at the midsection and a hand-beaded, sheer floor-length skirt detailed with sequins and lace florals. She paired the ensemble with black velvet opera gloves, pointed-toe pumps, and diamond drop earrings from Bucherer Fine Jewellery.

In its coverage of the ceremony’s fashion, Marie Claire wrote: “The cutout trend is beyond the point of stale, but Mindy Kaling’s gown does the trend justice with its voluminous sheer skirt and surprising structural details.”

For the evening, she styled her hair in a middle part with soft curls and wore bronzed makeup with glossy nude lips, aligning with the vintage-inspired theme.
