LOS ANGELES, CA – With ‘Trap’ surpassing the $80 million mark at the global box office, M. Night Shyamalan is already diving into his next project. He took to social media to thank audiences for the success of his latest film while sharing a glimpse into his creative process for his upcoming 17th feature.
In his post, Shyamalan shared a photo of a bright red notebook, a key part of his filmmaking ritual. “For every movie, I choose a notebook that resonates with me,” he wrote. “I fill it with notes and ideas until it’s brimming, then move on to outlining and scripting. This red notebook is the one for movie 17, and it just felt right. As Trap crosses $80 million in theaters, I’m incredibly grateful and inspired to begin the next journey with all the support you’ve shown me.”
‘Trap ‘stars Josh Hartnett as a father who brings his daughter to a massive concert for her favorite pop star, only to discover the event is an elaborate FBI sting. Shyamalan previously described the film’s concept in an interview, saying, “What if ‘The Silence of the Lambs’ took place at a Taylor Swift concert?” His daughter, Saleka will play the pop star.
