CANNES (ANI)– Aishwarya Rai Bachchan turned heads at the 78th Cannes Film Festival, gracing the red carpet in a striking black couture gown by celebrated Indian designer Gaurav Gupta.
The custom ensemble, titled Heiress of Clam, was a dramatic body-fitted creation embroidered in shades of silver, gold, charcoal, and black. Elevating the look further, Aishwarya paired the gown with a rich Banarasi brocade cape, handwoven in Varanasi. What truly set the cape apart was a Sanskrit shloka from the Bhagavad Gita woven into the fabric—adding a profound spiritual touch to her high-fashion statement.
Aishwarya was accompanied by her daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan, who looked charming in a coordinating black outfit. Viral videos captured the sweet moment as the duo stepped out hand in hand, radiating elegance and poise.
Just a day prior, Aishwarya embraced a classic Indian aesthetic in a Banarasi saree, complete with sindoor—evoking memories of her Cannes debut in 2002. Her return to the iconic red carpet continues to celebrate Indian heritage with a modern twist, echoing her memorable appearances over the years.
