Attend Classes Or Lose Visa: US Embassy Warns Indian Students

India-West News Desk

NEW DELHI – Indian students in the U.S. have been warned that skipping classes or leaving academic programs without notifying their schools could result in visa revocation and jeopardize future visa eligibility, according to a recent post by the U.S. Embassy in India.

The embassy’s message, shared on X, emphasized that students must strictly follow the terms of their F-1 or M-1 visas. “If you drop out, skip classes, or leave your program of study without informing your school, your student visa may be revoked,” the post stated. “You may also lose eligibility for future U.S. visas.”

The warning is part of broader immigration enforcement efforts under the Trump administration, which has intensified scrutiny of international students. The embassy also reminded students that overstaying their authorized period of stay could lead to deportation and a permanent travel ban.
