MUMBAI- Television star Avika Gor and her husband, Milind Chandwani, recently got married on September 30 on the sets of their fun reality show, ‘Pati Patni Aur Panga’. The couple, who have been dating for over six years, spoke  about their wedding experience, career identities, and plans for a proper honeymoon.

Due to packed shooting schedules, the couple’s honeymoon is on hold. “We haven’t finalized anything yet, but we are thinking about it,” said Avika. “Once all our shoot commitments are done, we will plan a longer trip — maybe for a few days — to relax and celebrate properly.” Milind added that since their televised wedding itself became a grand, special celebration, they don’t feel the immediate need for another massive celebration. Unanimously, the couple named Maldives as their favorite travel destination. Milind explained, “I love beaches, the water, scuba diving, and quiet resorts. We go there at least once a year. It’s peaceful and beautiful.”

Talking about the most memorable moment from their wedding, Avika revealed that for her it was her Mehendi ceremony. “I had written the names of my parents, my grandparents, and even his grandparents in the mehendi. And I did it just for myself—not for anyone’s reaction or validation,” Avika said. “But later, when I saw everyone’s reactions, especially Milind’s, I realized how much it meant. He kept mentioning it in every interview and showing it to everyone. Watching those moments again made me realize its true emotional value.”

Avika, who debuted as a child actor in the super-hit television show ‘Balika Vadhu’ where she played the character Anandi, also spoke about the identity that launched her 15-year career. Even now, the actress is often still called Anandi by fans, an identity she fully embraces.

“Honestly, I feel proud. It feels like my second name now,” Avika said. “Just today at the airport, a random auntie came and pulled my cheeks, calling me Anandi! I don’t want people to stop calling me that because it’s an identity that connects me to every home in this country.” She further added, “That show and that character made me a daughter to so many families. I will always cherish that.”

When Milind was asked if he had ever imagined marrying television’s “Balika Vadhu,” he said, “Not at all. When I first met her, she was very young — so I never thought that way. But as we spent more time together, I started seeing the person she truly was. Within six months, I realized that if this relationship continued, it would go a long way. And it did. We are both very grateful for that.” (IANS)
