HOUSTON, TX — In a landmark gathering that fused science with service, BAPS Charities hosted its first-ever Healthcare Professionals Conference here, bringing together more than 1,150 attendees from over 30 healthcare and allied fields. Held under the theme “Enrich, Explore, Empower,” the conference offered a dynamic and introspective platform for medical professionals seeking both technical growth and personal renewal.

The three-day event featured nine specialty tracks, more than 60 expert speakers and facilitators, and up to 14 CE/CME-accredited sessions. Topics ranged from artificial intelligence in medicine to clinical burnout, health equity, and innovations in patient-centered care. But HPC25 stood out for offering more than cutting-edge medical education—it fostered community, introspection, and spiritual grounding.

With physician burnout and systemic fatigue becoming global concerns, HPC25 aimed to rekindle the deeper motivations that first draw individuals to the healing professions. “Most other conferences focus on what to do technically,” noted Dr. Yagnesh Dave, an internist from Atlanta. “This one helped me reflect on how to become a better physician to treat my patients.”

Participants described the atmosphere as energizing yet contemplative, emphasizing the importance of integrating emotional intelligence and service into healthcare practice.

The emotional resonance of the event was palpable. “This conference gave me science—and also how to use it,” said Dr. Sachin Shah, PharmD, from San Jose. “It reignited the spirit of service in every attendee I spoke with.”

Jason Glover, CEO of Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center, delivered a keynote that captured this spirit. His “Four L’s” philosophy—Love, Learn, Little Things Matter, and Larger Than Each of Us—struck a chord with attendees navigating a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.

International perspectives further underscored the event’s holistic approach. “What I appreciate about Indian culture is how intelligently they combine spirituality with the sciences,” said Prof. Juergen Scheele, Chief Medical Officer of Innoplexus in Germany.

HPC25 also served as a cross-disciplinary networking hub, fostering collaboration between physicians, pharmacists, nurses, dentists, public health professionals, and students.

Beyond the U.S., BAPS Charities spotlighted its international medical initiatives in India, motivating participants to apply their knowledge in underserved communities. The message of seva—selfless service—remained a powerful undercurrent throughout the conference.

As the inaugural edition of HPC sets a new benchmark for future gatherings, one thing is clear: BAPS Charities’ unique fusion of clinical rigor and spiritual wisdom has resonated across healthcare communities—and may well shape how the profession approaches healing in the years to come, it said.
