Best of 2024: Amazon Music India Highlights Year’s Biggest Hits

MUMBAI – As 2024 draws to a close, Amazon Music India has unveiled its highly anticipated Best of 2024 list, celebrating the tracks, artists, and podcasts that defined the year. From debut chart-toppers to fan favorites, the list highlights the music that resonated most with listeners, showcasing a dynamic range of genres and languages.

The Artists Who Dominated 2024

Renowned artists such as Sachin-Jigar, Shilpa Rao, Vishal Mishra, Arijit Singh, and Anirudh Ravichander emerged as the highest-streamed names on Amazon Music India, shaping the year’s musical soundscape.

Notably, over 42% of listeners tuned into Hindi-language music, with Tauba Tauba from Bad Newz by Karan Aujla leading the India Playlist, while Sajni from Laapata Ladies by Ram Sampath, Arijit Singh, and Prashant Pandey claimed the title of the most-streamed Hindi song.

Global Hits and Regional Excellence

International pop star Sabrina Carpenter’s hit single Espresso was crowned the top international song of 2024, with Carpenter also named the top international artist.

Punjabi music saw over 61% listener engagement, with Diljit Dosanjh reigning as the top Punjabi artist. His collaboration on Naina from Crew (featuring Badshah and Raj Ranjodh) was the year’s most-streamed Punjabi track.

Anuv Jain’s Jo Tum Mere Ho became the most requested song on Alexa in India, while Akshath Acharya’s viral hit Nadaaniyan crowned him the top Indian Indie artist.

Hip-hop artist Hanumankind took center stage as the Indian Hip-Hop Artist of the Year, with his song Big Dawgs gaining global traction across multiple playlists.

Regional Stars on the Rise

Sai Abhyankkar emerged as the top Tamil artist of the year, thanks to viral tracks like Katchi Sera and Asa Kooda. Telugu music saw Thaman S dominate with his thunderous compositions for Guntur Kaaram. Meanwhile, Anirudh Ravichander’s work on films such as Devara Part 1 and Indian 2 cemented his place in the Top Artists India charts for 2024.

Podcasts That Made Waves

In the podcast space, Unfiltered by Samdish, Cyrus Says, and The Ranveer Show topped the charts, while Be A Man, Yaar! Season 2 and Immortal India with Amish earned accolades as Editor’s Picks.
