Family Of Three Found Dead; Police Suspect Double Murder Suicide
TOWSON, MD (IANS) – In a suspected case of double suicide murder, an Indian American family of three, including their six-year-old child, has been found dead in their home here, police said.
The victims were identified as 37-year-old Yogesh H Nagarajappa, his 37-year-old wife Prathiba Y Amarnath, and their six-year-old child Yash Honnal.
Police suspect that Yogesh killed his wife and child before killing himself on August 19.
Based on the initial investigation, this incident is believed to be a double murder-suicide that suspect Yogesh H Nagarajappa committed, officials said. Each of them had a gunshot wound.
The police reached after they were called by the family’s friends.
“I am heartbroken and deeply saddened for the innocent victims whose lives were cut short by this horrific act. We will do everything possible to assist family and community members following this tragic incident,” Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski Jr said in a statement released on August 19.
Police said that the homicide unit is continuing with its investigation into the incident, and they will release more information as the probe progresses.
Meanwhile, an autopsy would be conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Officer to determine the manner and cause of death.

Sad to hear the news. I wonder how was he able to get a gun. Police should investigate if someone else murdered them and left the gun there to show suicide.

Its very unfortnate that majority of folks from India have not kept with the strong traditional values of our ancestors. From joint family to very segregated living to a point that folks dont even know their neighbour accross the hallway even in an apartment building. I have personally seen how difficult it can get if a family get hit by a catastrophe and other around them, even knowing of the dilemma family is going through is so hesitant to reach out..and one of the reason being not wanting them to get involved with ‘the’ situation. Lack of empathy is definately the key reason, but its was always intertwined in Indian culture ..not so any more unfortunately.
