From An Illustrious Family, Tanishaa Mukerji Reflects On Film Heritage
MUMBAI-Actress Tanishaa Mukerji took a nostalgic trip down memory lane, saying she still finds it remarkable how her family has shaped her perspective of the film industry.
The actress expressed gratitude for her illustrious film lineage and reshared a video of a superhit song featuring legendary stars Nutan and Kishore Kumar.
Sharing the clip on social media, Tanishaa wrote, “Amazing, my Kishore dadu and Nutan moushi. Sometimes I can’t believe how my family has shaped my view of this beautiful film industry!”
The video reposted by the actress featured the iconic song ‘Yeh Raatein Yeh Mausam’, picturized on Nutan and sung by Kishore Kumar.
The song is from the film ‘Dilli Ka Thug’, which starred Kishore Kumar and Nutan and remains a timeless classic.
The melody has recently seen a resurgence on social media, going viral among younger audiences.
Nutan was regarded as one of Hindi cinema’s finest performers and remained a major force from the 1950s to the 1970s, known for films such as ‘Bandini’, ‘Sujata’, ‘Seema’ and ‘Milan’.
Kishore Kumar, regarded as one of the most celebrated voices of Indian cinema, delivered songs that continue to resonate across generations.
His popular tracks include ‘Roop Tera Mastana’, ‘Mere Sapno Ki Rani’ and ‘Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas’.
He was also an accomplished actor and appeared in films such as ‘Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi’ and ‘Padosan’.
Tanishaa comes from a noted film family. Her grandmother Shobhana Samarth was a pioneering actress, while her mother Tanuja and aunt Nutan were leading stars of their time.
Tanishaa has appeared in films such as ‘Neal n Nikki’, ‘Sarkar’ and ‘Popcorn Khao! Mast Ho Jao’.
