HYDERABAD- President Donald Trump thanked India after a road beside the U.S. Consulate in Hyderabad was officially named “Donald Trump Avenue.” In a post on Truth Social, Trump said he had become the first U.S. President to have a road in India named after him.
Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu unveiled the plaque for “Donald Trump Avenue” beside the U.S. Consulate in Hyderabad alongside U.S. Ambassador Sergio Gor and U.S. Consul General Lara Williams. In an Instagram post, Mallu said the renaming, announced by Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, marked the 250th anniversary of American Independence and was “a proud tribute to the strong bond between Telangana and the USA.”
The U.S. Consulate General in Hyderabad also welcomed the gesture, saying it reflects the growing partnership between India and the United States.
