ICCR Launches Online Certification Courses In Indian Arts

NEW DELHI – The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), in partnership with Routes 2 Roots, is launching a series of year-long certificate courses in Indian art, music and dance.

The courses cover Bhangra, calligraphy, Madhubani painting, Hindustani classical vocal music, Bollywood dance, tabla, Bharatanatyam, Kathak and Odissi. Classes will be offered at beginner and intermediate levels, with live sessions scheduled throughout the week.

The program builds on an earlier online initiative launched in  2024, which introduced international participants to traditional art forms such as henna design, Rangoli, Madhubani painting and puppet making. The earlier classes drew 1,441 registrations for henna, 1,094 for Madhubani painting, 794 for puppet making and 727 for Rangoli from 51 countries.

The new courses begin in mid-July, with Madhubani painting starting July 16, followed by Bollywood dance and Kathak on July 17 and Hindustani classical vocal music on July 18. Tabla and Odissi sessions begin July 20, calligraphy on July 21, and Bhangra and Bharatanatyam on July 22.
