Kamala Harris Blasts Trump In First Major Speech Since Elections

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – “Don’t scatter,” former U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris was the central message as she called on Americans to unite against President Donald Trump in a forceful speech delivered on April 30.

She warned of a potential constitutional crisis if Congress and the courts “fail to do their part,” emphasizing the need for collective action in the face of what she described as “the greatest man-made economic crisis in modern presidential history.”

Harris specifically criticized Trump’s tariff policies, stating they were “clearly inviting a recession” and accused him of promoting a “narrow, self-serving vision” that favored the wealthy.

Notably, recent Reuters/Ipsos polling indicates that only 36% of Americans approve of Trump’s handling of the economy. This data also highlights a disparity in party confidence, with Democrats expressing less confidence in their leadership compared to Republicans, 71% to 83%, as reported by Reuters.

Harris praised Senators Cory Booker and Bernie Sanders, along with activists, for their “moral clarity” and courage, urging her allies to speak out loudly.

This speech, delivered to a hometown crowd in the San Francisco Bay Area at an event hosted by Emerge America, marked a significant political re-emergence for Harris since losing the election to Trump.

With speculation swirling about her potential candidacy for California governor next year and a future presidential run, this address, her most prominent since leaving office, signaled a clear return to the political stage, media outlets speculated.

During this tumultuous start to Trump’s second term, where he has signed 142 executive orders, his approval rating has dropped to 42%, according to Reuters/Ipsos polling.
