SURREY, BRITISH COLUMBIA – Malabar Gold & Diamonds, the world’s fifth-largest jewelry retailer, has inaugurated its second Canadian showroom at the Payal Business Centre in Surrey, British Columbia. The showroom was officially opened by Niki Sharma, Deputy Premier and Attorney General of British Columbia.

The new location features a curated collection of over 20,000 jewelry designs in 18K, 21K, and 22K gold and diamonds. The range includes bridal, occasional, daily, and office wear across more than 25 exclusive brands. Additional amenities include customized jewelry design services and ample parking.

“This expansion reflects our growing footprint in the international jewelry market,” said Malabar Group Chairman M.P Ahammed. “Our mission is to deliver exceptional shopping experiences through quality, service, and trust. We remain committed to becoming the world’s No.1 jewelry retailer.”

The launch in Surrey follows the company’s first Canadian showroom, opened in Mississauga in 2023. International Operations Managing Director Shamlal Ahamed noted that the brand has quickly become a key player in Canada’s jewelry market.

“With this second showroom, we’re closer to our customers and better positioned to help them celebrate life’s special moments with timeless elegance,” Ahamed said. “We’re planning rapid expansion—Ajax is next, followed by Calgary, Vancouver, and Montreal.”

In celebration of the Surrey showroom opening, Malabar is offering a zero-deduction exchange on 22K gold jewelry, valid until June 30, 2025. Customers can bring in old gold jewelry purchased anywhere and exchange it for new designs from the brand.

Malabar Gold & Diamonds is known not only for its global retail presence—402 showrooms across 13 countries—but also for its ethical sourcing and Environmental, Social & Governance  commitments. All jewelry is made from 100% traceable raw materials, compliant with standards from organizations such as the London Bullion Market Association and World Gold Council.

Vice-Chairman Abdul Salam K.P emphasized the company’s ethical foundation. “We strive to be a model organization in the global jewelry sector. Transparent business practices and responsible sourcing are fundamental to everything we do,” he said.

Since its founding in 1993, Malabar Group has allocated 5% of net profits in every country of operation toward ESG initiatives. These efforts focus on health, hunger, housing, education, women’s empowerment, and the environment.

Among its key social impact projects is the establishment of 716 micro learning centers across India, providing foundational education to over 32,000 underprivileged children. The Group also supports girls through education scholarships and operates “Grandma Homes”—free accommodations for destitute women—in Bengaluru and Hyderabad, with more planned across Indian cities.

The company’s long-term vision of ethical growth and sustainable luxury continues to define its trajectory in new markets.

Founded in 1993, Malabar Gold & Diamonds is the flagship company of Malabar Group. With over 25,000 professionals from 26 countries, it operates in India, the Middle East, the Far East, the USA, the UK, Canada, and Australia. The group also runs an online platform, malabargoldanddiamonds.com.
