NEW YORK, NY – Met Gala, one of the biggest fashion nights, now draws money bags, socialites, and celebrities as well as talent from India. So, it saw the likes of Isha Ambani, Natasha Poonawalla, Ali Bhatt, and Sudha Reddy. In a thrilling moment, ace designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee also debuted on the red carpet.

Simone Ashley, the Indo-British actress known for her role in the popular ‘Bridgerton’ series was all smiles on fashion’s big night. Ambika Mod, who played Shruti Acharya in the BBC drama series ‘This Is Going to Hurt’ and Emma Morley in the Netflix miniseries ‘One Day’ was also a striking presence.

Mona Patel

Fashion entrepreneur and philanthropist Mona Patel turned heads in her stunning creation. She graced the carpet in a stunning custom creation by Iris Van Herpen. Her gown featured sleeves with butterflies. However, what caught the attention at the event was the mechanics attached to the butterflies on her dress that made flap as she walked the carpet. She was styled by Law Roach. Born in Vadodara, she moved to America in 2003 and has since founded several companies, such as HauteX Ventures and radXai, a health tech startup, the Daily Mail said.

She made a stunning appearance on the red carpet in a black and blue sequin-studded gown designed by Prabal Gurung. The gown featured a skirt with alternating vertical divisions of blue and patterned hues. The plunging V-neckline added a touch of drama, while the cutouts at the midriff ensured a modern edge to her look.

Sabyasachi Mukherjee

The man behind the creation of Alia Bhatt’s ensemble himself created history by becoming the first Indian designer to grace the prestigious Met Gala carpet. He attended the fashion extravaganza wearing an embroidered cotton duster coat from the Sabyasachi Resort 2024 collection layered with tourmalines, pearls, emeralds, and diamonds from Sabyasachi High Jewelry.

Alia Bhatt

She made an entrance on the green-tinged carpet, in an exquisite mint green floral Sabyasachi saree, marking her second appearance at the prestigious event. With a train that practically engulfed the carpet, Bhatt’s ensemble was captivating. The Indian media and fans have gushed.

Ambika Mod

Popular actress and comedian Ambika Mod graced the carpet in a custom monochrome Loewe gown designed by Charles James and styled by Farrah O’Connor.

Isha Ambani

Isha Ambani, daughter of Mukesh Ambani of Reliance Industries came in Indian designer Rahul Mishra’s couture sari gown, featuring a long floral train. Anaita Shroff Adajania styled her for the gala. It was 2017 when she made her Met Gala debut.

Sudha Reddy

Philanthropist and businesswoman Sudha Reddy made a captivating appearance in a custom creation from Tarun Tahiliani’s atelier, complemented by exquisite jewelry. She stunned in the ‘Amore Eterno’ necklace, featuring a remarkable 180 carats, a 25-carat heart-shaped diamond at the center, and three additional 20-carat heart-shaped diamonds.

Natasha Poonawalla

She was another Indian celeb who arrived at the Gala night. Natasha never stops surprising the fans with her unconventional and striking fashion choices. This year, her ensemble was custom-made from Maison Margiela’s Artisanal Collection, designed by John Galliano. She opted for a white strapless bodycon dress with black ripped chiffon details on it and Natasha completed the look with a fluffy matching cap.
