Modi Salutes Gandhi, Addresses Ukrainian Anger Visits Children’s Memorial
KYIV (ANI) – Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 23 paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at his statue in the Ukrainian capital and emphasized the relevance of the Father of the Nation’s message of peace in shaping a harmonious society. He noted that the path shown by the Mahatma offered solutions to present-day global challenges.
The bronze statue of the Mahatma at AV Fomin Botanical Garden was unveiled in 2020 on the occasion of the 151st birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
Modi and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also honored the memory of children at the Martyrologist Exposition at the Ukraine National Museum.
Modi said he was deeply touched by the poignant exposition set up in memory of children who have lost their lives in the conflict. He expressed his sorrow at the tragic loss of young lives and as a mark of respect placed a toy in their memory.
It has been a point of anger for Ukraine that Russia had bombed a children’s hospital just as Modi was visiting Russia and pictures of him hugging the Russian leader Vladimir Putin had been beamed around the world.
Zelenskyy said, “Today in Kyiv, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and I honored the memory of the children whose lives were taken by Russian aggression. Children in every country deserve to live in safety. We must make this possible,” he added.

But what about Modi? I wrote about Modi how he is very friendly with Putin because he wants to buy the cheap gas from him. He does not care about children in 🇺🇦 Ukraine. Did he ever say a single word about children getting killed in Ukraine or women being raped in Ukraine. The day he visited Putin, a children hospital was bombarded by Russia and innocent children killed.

All such killings/crimes are happening in different countries from time to time. How can Modi or Rahul be taken responsible for these if people cannot help themselves with peace and compromise. Is there any other leader in the world capable to intervene and bring peace?
