Muskan Dubey Named Valedictorian At Xavier University Commencement
NEW YORK, NY- Medical graduate Dr. Muskan Dubey was named valedictorian of the Xavier University School of Medicine as Xavier University honored its Class of 2026 during commencement ceremonies on May 15.
The ceremony, held at the Holiday Inn Resort Aruba, recognized graduates from the university’s Schools of Medicine and Nursing. Medical School Salutatorian Dr. Gabriella David and Nursing Valedictorian Vanya Tromp also received top academic honors.
During the ceremony, medical school valedictorian Dr. Muskan Dubey, medical school salutatorian Dr. Gabriella David, and nursing valedictorian Vanya Tromp reflected on their academic journeys and emphasized perseverance, gratitude, and compassionate care.
Drs. Melvin G. Wyatt-Ras, Aruba’s Minister of Public Health, Social Affairs, Elderly Care, and Addiction Management, delivered the congratulatory address. She highlighted the growing demand for healthcare professionals and encouraged graduates to pursue excellence while remaining committed to integrity, service, and leadership.
Dr. Arun Dubey, Chief Academic Officer of Xavier University, served as master of ceremonies and welcomed attendees.
“Today, we come together to celebrate more than academic success,” Dr. Dubey said. “We honor dedication to healing, service, and compassion. Our graduates have completed rigorous coursework, demanding clinical training, and faced significant challenges with resilience and determination.”
Edwin Casey, chairman of Xavier University’s board, encouraged graduates to approach their careers with humility, a commitment to service, and a dedication to lifelong learning.
The ceremony opened with the national anthems of the United States, Canada, and Aruba and was livestreamed for family members and supporters around the world.
