HOUSTON, TX – NASA astronaut Don Pettit, aboard the International Space Station (ISS), has shared mesmerizing photos of the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, from a vantage point 400 km above Earth.
The images, posted by Pettit on X, highlight the illuminated tent city near the Sangam, where the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers converge. “2025 Maha Kumbh Mela Ganges River pilgrimage from the ISS at night. The largest human gathering in the world is well lit,” Pettit wrote alongside the photos.
