WASHINGTON, DC – Donald Trump was inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States during the 60th Presidential Inauguration held at the US Capitol here on January 20. Chief Justice John Roberts administered the oath of office, marking Trump’s return to the presidency.

Prior to Trump’s swearing-in, JD Vance was sworn in as Vice President. The ceremony was preceded by their arrival at the Capitol alongside outgoing President Joe Biden and outgoing Vice President Kamala Harris, who accompanied their successors in a symbolic gesture of peaceful transition.

An array of prominent figures attended the ceremony. Trump’s wife, Melania Trump, arrived at the Rotunda alongside Usha Vance, the wife of Vice President JD Vance. Jill Biden and Doug Emhoff, the spouses of the outgoing President and Vice President, arrived earlier.

Key members of Trump’s incoming administration, including his cabinet nominees, took their seats before the inauguration began. Among the attendees were former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy and tech billionaire Elon Musk, co-chairs of the newly created Department of Government Efficiency.

Former Presidents and First Ladies, including Bill and Hillary Clinton, George and Laura Bush, and Barack Obama, were present for the occasion. Trump’s children—Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, Tiffany Trump, and Barron Trump—also attended.

The Golden Age

In his inaugural address, Trump declared that a “golden age of America” was beginning and described the day as the country’s “Liberation Day.”

“America will soon be greater, stronger, and far more exceptional than ever before,” he proclaimed. Trump expressed confidence that the nation was entering a thrilling new era of success and pledged to rebuild the country’s global standing.

“Our sovereignty will be reclaimed, our safety will be restored, and the scales of justice will be rebalanced. The vicious, violent, and unfair weaponization of the Justice Department and our government will end,” he said.

Trump reiterated his commitment to the “America First” agenda, promising to create a nation that is “proud, prosperous, and free.”

Recounting an Assassination Attempt

Trump also reflected on the assassination attempt against him during a Pennsylvania campaign rally in 2024. “An assassin’s bullet ripped through my ear,” he said, crediting divine intervention for saving his life.

“I believe my life was saved for a reason: to make America great again,” Trump stated, emphasizing his resolve to lead the nation.

As he took the oath of office, Trump vowed to reclaim the nation’s greatness and ensure that the United States would be the “envy of every nation.”

  • The incoming president Trump has every possibility of making America great again! The outgoing president Biden is desperate for a legacy but unfortunately has a long list of pardons, not just his useless son Hunter, but a whole lot of murderers. Minutes before the inauguration he added the rest of his family! Good riddance!
