Over the course of the last year, SAHARA has served 2,691 individuals (up nearly 15% from the previous year) by providing wrap-around services, including:
● Housing (SAHARA owns and operates two shelter facilities)
● Legal Aid
● Mental Health Therapy
● Citizenship
● Public Benefits
● Education
● Community Engagement and Empowerment
● Help and Referral Line (used almost 5,000 times this year)
The evening was an occasion to express heartfelt gratitude to the benefactors and donors on the opening of SAHARA’s 2nd transitional home, The Shah Happiness Home.
“SAHARA holds a promise of hope. A promise, that to those that walk through our doors seems farfetched and unreachable. With our experienced and compassionate staff, we continue to serve a community in need.” Stated Executive Director Marisol Sanchez.
Emmy nominated executive producer and director, Riaz Patel was the keynote and he shared the importance of connecting with people in an interactive way.
The double pledge support from Manu & Rika Shah helped us move forward to our goal, allowing us to fund important projects and initiatives. The highlight of the event was the incredible generosity of Daksha and Sudhir Kapadia. We are humbly grateful for everyone’s participation.
