LOS ANGELES, CA – Kaala Bhairava son of composer M Keeravani and Rahul Sipligunj singers of ‘Naatu Naatu’ also performed the song at the Oscars ceremony on March 12 here at the Dolby Theater. The pulsating number had the audience giving them a standing ovation.
The song features a rhythm that is common in Telugu. “That’s the most beautiful part of the Oscars – people from all over the world coming together, representing their own culture and their own art forms and being appreciated by people from other countries and communities,” Keeravani told The Hollywood Reporter.
The number – which means “Dance, Dance” in Telugu – has been a global sensation ever since the film’s release. It is filmed in front of the picturesque Mariinskyi Palace in Ukraine, and features the film’s heroes, Ram Charan and Jr NTR. It took 15 days, with 150 dancers and a crew of 200 working 12 hours a day to shoot.
The choreography has become iconic with its superfast footwork and has inspired Instagram reels and dance trends on social media.
