Sunita Kanchinadam Becomes TiE Boston’s First Woman President

BOSTON, MA – TiE Boston has named Sunita Kanchinadam as its 15th president, making her the first woman to lead the organization in its nearly three-decade history.

Kanchinadam, a managing director at Bank of New York, officially began her two-year term on July 1, succeeding outgoing president Purnanand Sarma. She will lead one of Massachusetts’ largest entrepreneurship organizations, which connects founders with investors, executives and mentors across New England.

Kanchinadam has previously served on the organization’s board of directors and chaired both TiECon East and TiE Women.

“It is a privilege to serve as president of TiE Boston and to lead an organization that has played such an important role in empowering entrepreneurs and building meaningful connections across our innovation ecosystem,” Kanchinadam said. She added that she hopes to build on the organization’s tradition of mentorship while creating new opportunities for entrepreneurs to learn, grow and succeed.

Kanchinadam brings more than 25 years of experience in financial technology and global financial services. She has previously held senior leadership roles at State Street, Goldman Sachs and Lehman Brothers.
