RALEIGH, NC – A new Tamasha Restaurant here, in the North Hills neighborhood has quickly earned the distinction of being one of the most beautiful in the entire country and has gone on the lists of People Magazine and OpenTable.
Owner Tina Vora told ABC11 “It means the world to me. We opened in February 2024. To be such a young and new restaurant and receive national recognition is very, very rewarding.”
This achievement is the culmination of a two-year design project. Vora said she custom-designed every element of the interior, with a standout feature being a metallic light fixture that runs through the entire restaurant. “It’s made out of 2,300 individual pieces,” she told ABC11. “I manually sketched those patterns and collaborated with manufacturers overseas.”
Additionally, the Tamasha restaurant boasts brass arches where customers can dine under domes, adding to the dramatic and grand atmosphere.
Co-owner Mike Kathrani emphasized that the Tamasha Restaurant is not only visually stunning but also fills a gap in the local culinary scene. He noted that modern Indian cuisine had already established a presence in major cities like Chicago, New York, and San Francisco.
Chef Bhavin Chhatwani, who brings Michelin-star experience to the table, has crafted a menu that pays homage to traditional Indian cuisine while introducing guests to the country’s progressive culinary trends.
