The Healing Benefits Of Ajvain

Ajvain (Trachyspermum ammi), also known as carom seeds or Yavani in Ayurveda, is a traditional medicinal herb widely valued for its digestive and therapeutic properties. The seeds are rich in thymol, a natural compound known for its antimicrobial and digestive-supporting effects. In Ayurvedic practice, Ajvain is commonly used to relieve digestive discomfort, improve appetite, ease respiratory congestion, and support overall gastrointestinal health.

Piles

Take ¼ tsp of Ajvain seed powder mixed with ¼ tsp of black salt in buttermilk, twice daily.

Painful Menstruation

Take ¼–½ tsp of Ajvain seed powder with warm milk, three times a day for 2–3 days.

Urticaria (Skin Allergy)

Take ¼–½ tsp of Ajvain seed powder with water, twice daily.

Abdominal Pain

Take ¼ tsp of Ajvain seed powder with lukewarm water, two to three times daily.

Flatulence (Gas)

Take ½ tsp of Ajvain seed powder mixed with an equal quantity of fennel (saunf) powder with warm water.

Sinusitis

Apply a warm paste of Ajvain over the forehead and just below the eyes in the morning.

Nasal Block

Add ¼–½ tsp of Ajvain powder to steaming water and inhale the vapors two to three times a day.

Loss of Appetite

Take ¼ tsp of Ajvain seed powder with warm water about 30 minutes before meals.
