SAN FRANCISCO, CA – The United Hindu Council (UHC) has initiated a public awareness campaign, featuring billboards in the Bay Area, following the terror attack in Pahalgam. The campaign, which includes a billboard placed near the San Mateo Bridge on June 2, aims to raise awareness and condemn the incident that resulted in the deaths of 26 Hindu men.

The message on the billboard is designed to draw clear distinctions between India and Pakistan. The message states: “India stands for Humanity and Pakistan for Terrorism. Do not equate a terror-sponsoring state like Pakistan, which harbored Osama Bin Laden, with India— the world’s largest and most diverse democracy.”

Another billboard presents the question: “The victims in Pahalgam were killed because they were Hindus, so does terrorism have a religion?“ It is followed by “YES. NO.” checkboxes.

The campaign’s objective, according to the UHC, is to highlight the religious targeting of Hindus and to challenge what they refer to as “false narratives.”

UHC said, “The global silence on the targeting of Hindus in Kashmir is unacceptable. We will not let the memory of those killed in Pahalgam be erased by propaganda or political expediency. The world must confront the reality of Pakistan’s role as a state sponsor of terror.”
