US Drone Maker Tied To Trump’s Sons Signs Deal With Pak Army

WASHINGTON, DC –  A US drone company that is preparing to merge with a firm backed by President Donald Trump’s sons has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Pakistan Army that includes an initial order for power systems.

Powerus co-founder Brett Velicovich confirmed the agreement, the Times of Israel reported. He said the technology covered by the deal falls within the unmanned aerial systems category but declined to provide further details, citing security sensitivities. He also declined to disclose the value of the order, citing confidentiality.

Powerus is expected to merge with publicly traded Aureus Greenway Holdings in early October, according to statements from the two companies. Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump own a stake in Aureus through an investment fund called American Ventures, US regulatory filings show.

The filings also show that American Ventures is expected to hold a 9.9 per cent beneficial ownership stake in the combined company after the merger.

Powerus offers aerial and maritime drones for military and industrial use.

The agreement followed a meeting between a Powerus delegation led by Velicovich and Pakistan’s Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. The Pakistan military said the two sides discussed defense procurement, production and long-term capacity building.
