NEW DELHI – As Vice President J.D. Vance touched down in India on April 21 for his first official visit, it wasn’t just his diplomatic agenda that captured attention—it was his family’s embrace of Indian tradition that drew eyeballs.

Accompanied by his wife, Usha Vance, and their three children, the Vice President was welcomed at the airport by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. While the adults opted for a classic mix of Western formals—Vance in a navy suit with a red tie, and Usha in a sleek red bodycon dress under a white overcoat—the spotlight quickly shifted to their children, who arrived in beautifully styled Indian outfits.

Ewan and Vivek, the Vances’ elder sons, wore colorful kurta-pyjama sets—one in bright yellow and the other in a deep blue—paired with sneakers for a playful yet respectful fusion look. Their younger sister, toddler Mirabel, charmed onlookers in a miniature Anarkali-style ensemble, complete with an embroidered jacket and sporty shoes to match her brothers.

In a moment that delighted photographers, Minister Vaishnaw, dressed in a traditional white kurta-pyjama himself, was seen engaging in conversation with Ewan, the Vances’ eldest, creating an image of cross-cultural exchange and goodwill.

Meanwhile, across the country in Mumbai, another American figure was turning heads in Indian fashion. Model, author, and dietitian Maye Musk—mother of  Elon Musk—celebrated her birthday in ndian style, donning a stunning traditional outfit by designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee.

Musk wore an all-pink lehenga ensemble featuring a full-sleeved blouse with a boat neckline and sheer embroidered detailing. Golden embellishments and intricate floral motifs added to the richness of the outfit, which she paired with a matching sheer dupatta. Completing the look were statement golden earrings from the Sabyasachi High Jewellery line.

Her makeup was subtle yet striking—rosy blush and highlighter, smoky brown eyelids, winged eyeliner, and bold red lips combined to create a birthday glow.
