Vijay Patil Elected Chairman Of Peace Center Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, CA – Vijay Patil has been elected chairman of the board of Peace Center Los Angeles, a nonprofit organization focused on promoting peace and understanding among communities.

The new board includes Dr. Sukrit as vice chairman, Charu Shivkumar as secretary and Arvind Patel as treasurer. The organization was founded by Ila Mehta and Dr. Gunvant Mehta.

Its programs include the International Day of Non-Violence, an interfaith seminar series and the Walk for Values, which promotes compassion, integrity, respect, responsibility and service.

The organization also plans to strengthen partnerships with community groups, offer education in conflict resolution and peacebuilding, develop youth leadership programs and create opportunities for dialogue across cultural and religious communities.

Patil said the organization would continue to promote nonviolence, mutual respect and understanding while creating opportunities for people from different backgrounds to engage with one another.
