Vikas Khanna Says Radhika Merchant’s Rakhi Had Enormous Meaning For Him

NEW YORK, NY – A recent visit by Radhika Merchant, Anant Ambani and his family to celebrity chef Vikas Khanna’s restaurant, Bungalow, included a Rakhi gesture that Khanna said had a deeply personal meaning for him.

Merchant tied a jalebi-shaped Rakhi on Khanna’s wrist during the visit. The chef later reflected on on Instagram, “Today, when Radhika tied a small jalebi shaped Rakhi on my wrist, something inside me shifted. For a moment, I felt a part of me heal,” Khanna wrote.

“The whole world knows what the name Radhika means to me,” Khanna wrote. His late sister, whose life he has chronicled with regularity, was also named Radhika.

He thanked Merchant for the Rakhi, writing that some meaningful moments arrive without being planned.

“Some moments cannot be planned. Some blessings simply arrive when you need them most. Thank you, Radhika, for a little thread that carried such an enormous meaning for me,” Khanna wrote.

He had earlier decorated Bungalow with flowers and arranged flower petals to spell “Vantara,” Anant Ambani’s animal welfare project.
