Vipul Shah On The Unique Seven-Film Partnership With Akshay Kumar
MUMBAI – Producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah on May 26 spoke about his long-running collaboration with Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, saying the duo has consciously avoided repeating genres across their films together.
Shah made the remarks during the trailer launch of his upcoming film ‘Governor’.
Shah said, “Coming back after six films that we did together, I and Akshay always tried to never repeat our genres. We kept doing genres which were different from the last film, whether it was ‘Aankhen’, ‘Waqt’, ‘Namastey London’, ‘Singh Is Kinng’, ‘Action Replayy’, ‘Holiday’, and now again for the seventh time we are working together.”
The producer also revealed details about their next project, describing it as a large-scale action film centered on aliens and predators.
“We are bringing a new genre to Indian cinema. We have not had a great predator alien film. This film will be directed by Kanishk Verma and it has some of the best Hollywood technicians. It’s a big action film that we are mounting, so we are very excited about it,” Shah said.
Shah added that his current focus remains on the release of ‘Governor’, which is scheduled to hit theaters on June 12. (IANS)
