Vishal Dadlani Says Ghibli Images Are “Plagiarism”
MUMBAI (ANI)- The viral trend of AI-generated Studio Ghibli-style images has captivated social media, but singer Vishal Dadlani has strongly opposed it, calling it “AI plagiarism.”
The Indian Idol judge urged fans not to tag him in posts featuring his AI-created Ghibli-style avatar, expressing his disapproval of artificial intelligence replicating an artist’s signature style.
Dadlani criticized AI for copying the life’s work of human artists and also raised concerns about its environmental impact.
“Sorry, I’m not sharing any of the Studio Ghibli-style images you guys have made of or for me. I just can’t bring myself to support AI’s plagiarism of an artist’s life’s work. Not to mention, the environmental horror that those images are. Please do NOT make any more. Thank you,” he posted
Vishal Dadlani is known for composing hit tracks for films such as Om Shanti Om, Anjaana Anjaani, Dostana, Bang Bang!, and Sultan.
Meanwhile, the AI tool behind this trend allows users to transform text descriptions into Ghibli-inspired art, recreating the studio’s signature soft colors, intricate details, and dreamy aesthetics. Social media continues to be flooded with these AI-generated images, featuring everyone from celebrities to public figures.
