NEW YORK, NY – As former President Donald Trump faces a historic criminal trial in a Manhattan courthouse, notable Republican figures have made appearances to show their support. Among them are those who are hoping to get into the inner circle of Trump, and a tested method is to praise and echo his lines.

Among them is former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, who hopes to secure a spot on Trump’s potential 2024 ticket, as vice president. The largest gathering of Trump supporters occurred when House Speaker Mike Johnson arrived with several congressional representatives. Ramaswamy was prominent and speaking to the press he compared the trial to a “Kafka novel.”

Other appearances, all vying for the same office as Ramaswamy, include Senator J.D. Vance of Ohio and Congressman Byron Donalds of Florida.

Trump’s campaign regularly sends out fundraising emails, falsely claiming he “stormed” out of the courtroom after unfavorable rulings. After several gag orders and fines, surrogates like Ramaswamy and Vance have given press conferences with the latter even attacking the judge and his family.

  • I seriously doubt if Trump will pick Vivek Ramaswami as his running mate. However, should Trump become president, God forbid, he may appoint Vivek for a cabinet position, considering how much he sucks up to Trump.

According to forbes.comm, dated May 16, 2024, the top contenders for the VP slot are: Sen. Tim Scott, S.C., North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, Sen. J.D. Vance, Ohio, Sen. Marco Rubio, Fla, Rep. Byron Donalds, Fla., Rep. Elise Stefanik, N.Y., Sen. Tom Cotton, Ark., and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Vivek didn’t make this list. I won’t be surprised if Trump picks Tim Scott as his running mate because this way he can siphon some black votes from Biden and win. DeSantis is another option. In the Republican primaries, DeSantis had performed quite well, albeit a distant second to Trump.

  • It’s it’s what MAGA wants and not what Trump wants. Trump took vivekramaswamy and his wife to Mar-A-Lago and the reception was not very enthusiastic so he dropped him as VP even though the Newsmax poll puts the way up front with 20% and the rest of them in single digits and Elise stefanik not even 3%, so right now Ron DeSantis seems to be the choice for VP since he’s the only one who can pardon Trump and has a chance to win in 2028. And have the suppoet of MAGA . Blacks are totally upset with Biden because of the immigration and they will shift their loyalty from Biden to Trump and they don’t need a token candidate as VP to make that change. immigration is going to be the most crucial factor in this election not foreign policy not economy and not Israel.. dictated but not edited
