India-West News Desk

BOSTON, MA – Wayfair CEO Niraj Shah has ignited a storm of criticism after encouraging employees to embrace extended work hours and seamlessly integrate work and personal life in his end-of-year message.

The company, boasting a workforce of approximately 15,000, announced its return to profitability

Shah’s message, as reported by CNN, stated, “Working long hours, being responsive, blending work and life, is not anything to shy away from. There is not a lot of history of laziness being rewarded with success.” The CEO urged employees to strive for a “blend and balance” between personal and professional efforts, emphasizing that “winning requires hard work.”

Additionally, Shah called on Wayfair staff to approach company spending as if it were their own and negotiate prices accordingly.

The CEO’s directives have sparked discontent on social media, with numerous users calling for a collective resignation of all Wayfair employees. One outraged user tweeted, “Every single employee at Wayfair should quit after that email from Niraj Shah.” Another had a humorous response, stating, “Agreed! But they should absolutely steal anything not nailed down first!”
