With Delhi On High Alert, Kanye West’s Show Called Off

MUMBAI- Rapper Kanye West’s concert in India has been cancelled following security concerns and advisories issued by India amid a high-alert situation in the national capital.

On May 15, the organizers of the event shared a statement on Instagram, “We are deeply disheartened to announce that Ye live in India, scheduled for May 2026 in New Delhi, has been officially cancelled following security advisories and directives issued by the concerned government and law enforcement authorities amid the current high-alert situation in the capital.”

The organizers said the decision was taken keeping public safety in mind after months of planning for the event.

“After months of planning and preparation for what was set to become one of the largest live productions ever attempted in India, the safety and well-being of attendees and the citizens of India remains the highest priority,” the statement added.

The organizers also said they were working with Kanye West’s team to secure a new date and venue for the concert.

Earlier, the American rapper had postponed his New Delhi concert to May 23, 2026, citing geopolitical and regional tensions. (IANS)
