5 Indian Students in Canada Killed in Auto Crash

TORONTO – Five Indian students, Jaspinder Singh, 21, Karanpal Singh, 22, Mohit Chouhan, 23, Pawan Kumar, 23, and Harpreet Singh, 24, were pronounced dead at the scene of a horrific traffic accident on Mar.13.
They were travelling in a passenger van when they collided with a tractor trailer at around 3:45 a.m, Quinte West Ontario Provincial Police said.
Police said they were all students in the Greater Toronto and Montreal areas.
Ajay Bisaria, High Commissioner of India to Canada, tweeted, “Heart-breaking tragedy in Canada: 5 Indians students passed away in an auto accident near Toronto on Saturday. Two others in hospital. Deepest condolences to the families of the victims.”
He further added, “@IndiainToronto team in touch with friends of the victims for assistance.”
Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
