Abhijeet Sawant Announces Musical Project Celebrating 90s Hits
MUMBAI-Singer Abhijeet Sawant is set to take audiences back to the 1990s with his upcoming musical initiative, ’90’s Band’, which aims to bring together popular songs from the decade in a live musical experience.
“Songs from the 90s are still loved by everyone. The idea behind this is to bring a musical gathering of these songs through this 90s band,” Sawant said in a statement.
The singer said performing songs in different styles today has made him appreciate the distinctive appeal of music from the 1990s and inspired him to revisit the era with audiences.
“While singing songs in different forms today, I realize the fun of old songs is something else, and that’s why I want to take the audience back to the 90s era once again, and this is what the audience should experience through 90’s Band,” he added.
Details about the band’s format and performance schedule have not yet been announced. The initiative aims to reconnect listeners with the music of the 1990s and introduce its appeal to younger audiences.
Sawant rose to prominence after winning the first season of ‘Indian Idol’. His debut solo album, ‘Aapka Abhijeet Sawant’, was released in 2005. That year, he also lent his voice to the song ‘Mar Jaawan Mit Jaawan’ from the film ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’. (IANS)
