Silloo Dordi Passes Away

LOS ANGELES, CA – Silloo Dordi passed away on January 26. She was married to Firoze Dordi, founder of the well-known Maazda Travels. Their 57-year marriage, the family said, served as an inspiration for many. She had an unwavering faith in God and prioritized her family above all else. Together, the couple traveled the world and raised two sons, Khushroo and Firdaus, inculcating in them the best of their Indian and Parsi heritage, along with American culture.
She twice battled breast cancer but throughout, Silloo provided comfort, compassion, and solace to others while asking little in return. She was born on March 11, 1939, in Mumbai, to Piroja
and Minocher Darukhanawalla, the youngest of their four children. In her youth, she was a trailblazer, obtaining her Associate Degree and working at Air India, at a time when few women in India worked. She met the love of her life, Firoze, while both were working for Air India.
In 1979, the couple moved to Los Angeles with the hope of providing their sons a better life. In 1984, they started a travel agency. For over 36 years, they worked diligently side
She is survived by her doting husband, Firoze, her adoring sons, Khushroo and Firdaus, her loving daughters-in-law, Reshma and Mansi, and the four grandchildren she adored, Trishta, Mateo, Santiago, and Karina.
