Chris Martin Wins Hearts At Coldplay Concert With Diljit’s Signature Phrase

NEW DELHI (ANI) – At Coldplay’s recent concert in Abu Dhabi, frontman Chris Martin delighted fans with an unexpected and heartwarming gesture that has gone viral.

While the band rocked the stage, Martin spotted a fan holding a sign that read, “Punjabi aa gaye oye”—a phrase popularized by music icon Diljit Dosanjh. In a memorable moment captured on Instagram by Dosanjh’s team, Martin read the phrase aloud, drawing cheers and applause from the crowd.

He followed it up with an affectionate, “We love you too,” acknowledging the fan’s enthusiasm and further electrifying the atmosphere. The Instagram Story shared by Dosanjh’s team was captioned, “Chris Martin says PUNJABI AA GAYE OYE…..!!!! Chris Martin reading Coldplay fan posters and flags is so wholesome.”

The phrase “Punjabi aa gaye oye,” which translates to “Punjabis have arrived,” became a cultural catchphrase after Diljit Dosanjh’s historic performance at Coachella in 2023. It has since symbolized Punjabi pride and global recognition.

Meanwhile, Diljit recently wrapped up his much-anticipated Dil-Luminati tour across India, performing in cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, and his hometown, Ludhiana.

Coldplay is also making waves as they gear up for their highly awaited return to India with their Music of the Spheres tour. Following their Abu Dhabi concert, the band will perform in Mumbai and Ahmedabad. This marks their first visit to India since their performance at the Global Citizen Festival in Mumbai in 2016. Fans are eagerly anticipating their shows, which promise to be unforgettable.
