After Another Firing At Kapil Sharma’s Canada Cafe, Police Review Danger To Star
MUMBAI- Comedian and actor Kapil Sharma will receive police protection from the Mumbai police following a shooting at his cafe in Surrey, British Columbia. This decision comes after a second firing incident occurred within 30 days, prompting police to assess the threat to Sharma’s life.
After the shooting, a social media post went viral, with Goldie Dhillon and the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claiming responsibility. The post warned that if Sharma didn’t “hear the ring” (respond to their calls), the next attack would happen in Mumbai.
Following the first incident, the Crime Branch had already questioned Sharma about any threats or extortion calls he might have received, but he denied any such contact. Now, the Crime Branch plans to question him again about the social media post and has also begun an investigation to see if anyone associated with the gang has been scouting locations around his home or his shooting sets.
The initial attack on Sharma’s cafe in Surrey was carried out by Harjit Singh, an operative of the banned Babbar Khalsa terror group. Harjit Singh claimed responsibility for the shooting, stating it was retaliation for comments Sharma made about the attire of Nihang Sikhs during a TV show. Singh fired nine bullets at the recently opened cafe. (IANS)
