AIA, SEWA International Hold Bay Area Gathering For Nepal Flood Victims

OAKLAND, CA – The Association of Indo Americans (AIA), along with community partners and representatives from SEWA International – East Bay, held a remembrance and support gathering September 9 for victims of the devastating floods in Nepal.

Community members, volunteers and supporters came together to remember those who lost their lives and express solidarity with families and communities affected by the floods. The gathering included a minute of silence, followed by prayers and condolences for the victims and their families.

Representatives from Sewa shared updates on the organization’s relief efforts, including its fundraising campaign and assistance to communities affected by the floods. They also spoke about the immediate needs of families impacted by the disaster and the role of continued community support.

AIA said it is supporting Sewa International’s relief efforts and urged community members, partner organizations and others in the AIA community to contribute to the campaign.

“In times of tragedy, our strength comes from standing together. Today, we came together not only to remember the lives lost, but also to support the families and communities facing unimaginable hardship. We encourage everyone in our community to extend their support and help SEWA International in its relief efforts,” AIA said.

AIA and SEWA are encouraging individuals, families, businesses and community organizations to support the relief campaign for those affected by the Nepal floods.
