Alia Bhatt’s Recycles Saree, Becomes A Talking Point

NEW DELHI, (IANS) – Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt, who received the ‘Best Actress’ award at the 69th National Film Awards for her performance in ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, wore her wedding saree to the ceremony on October 17.

As Alia went on the stage to receive the prestigious award, she bowed down and touched the floor of the stage.

She accessorized the look with a choker neckpiece, and matching earrings and tied her hair in a bun, with white roses. She completed the look with a red bindi and minimal makeup.

As fans wondered why she repeated the outfit, hours after winning the award, Alia took to Instagram Story and shared her thoughts about repeating the ivory saree from celebrated designer Sabyasachi’s eponymous label.

“A special day calls for a special outfit. And sometimes… that outfit is already right there What’s special once can be special again. And again…:) #rewear # reuse #repeat MA,” she wrote, adding a picture of herself in the six yards of pure grace.

The actress was accompanied to the award ceremony by her husband and actor Ranbir Kapoor.
