MUMBAI-Celebrity chef and actor Ranveer Brar has spoken about his close bond with comedian and actor Zakir Khan, saying their shared small-town backgrounds and the hunger and persistence that shaped their journeys connect them.

Khan hails from Indore, while Brar comes from Lucknow. Despite growing up in different cities, the two share a connection rooted in their experiences as young people from small towns with ambitions to make their mark.

“See, we both come from different places. But the connection between the two of us is like the hungry children of small towns. Zakir is from Indore, I am from Lucknow. And the hunger and persistence of the children of a small town connects us,” Brar said.

He also expressed his affection for Khan’s parents, saying their family shares a close relationship with him.

Recalling a phone call he received from Khan’s father, Brar said the conversation left him feeling appreciated and supported. Khan’s father told him how much he liked him, wished him well and praised the show.

“He said that I have made such a good show,” Brar recalled.

Describing the relationship as one that goes beyond friendship, Brar said the bond was built on the kind of affection and encouragement usually associated with family.

“So, that relationship is like a family relationship. Where there is an unconditional support and love. And I consider myself fortunate to have friends like him,” he said. (IANS)
