Boston University Student Death – Foul Play Ruled Out

NEW YORK, NY (IANS) – The Indian Consulate in New York said that initial police investigations into the death of Abhijeeth Paruchuru, a 20-year-old student from Andhra Pradesh found dead in Boston, have eliminated foul play as a factor.

In a statement on X, the Consulate expressed sadness over Paruchuru’s passing and outlined its role in facilitating the documentation and repatriation of his remains to India. The Consulate also revealed that Paruchuru’s parents have been in direct communication with investigators handling the case.

Paruchuru, hailing from Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, was pursuing studies in engineering at Boston University and had been sharing an apartment with a classmate. His body was discovered inside an abandoned vehicle in a forested area on campus by local law enforcement.

This incident marks the ninth such occurrence involving individuals of Indian origin in the year 2024.
