WASHINGTON, DC — Elon Musk’s recent apology for his “too far” personal attacks on President Trump has been well-received by the president. The former “first buddy” admitted his regret late on June 10.

“I thought it was very nice that he did that,” President Trump told the The New York Post during a “brief phone conversation” on the morning of June 11. He did not, however, indicate whether he was ready to put their differences behind them.

Musk, 53, had previously engaged in a series of social media accusations against Trump. These included claims that the Republican’s 2024 election victory was contingent on his assistance, and implications that the president was obstructing the release of files on convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein due to his past association with the late financier.

“I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far,” Musk posted on June 10, having already removed his initial post about the Epstein files.

Earlier, President Trump had suggested he was open to a potential reconciliation with Musk, whom he had last week accused of suffering from “Trump Derangement Syndrome” and harboring resentment over both his departure from a special government employee role and the House GOP’s decision to remove electric vehicle tax incentives from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
