Businessman Claims He Was Shot At In San Francisco
India-West News Desk
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Indian media is reporting on Deeptanshu “Deep” Prasad’s social media post where he has claimed he was chased and shot at twice near his San Francisco hotel.
In a post on X, he described how, between 3:30 and 4 a.m. on Sunday, he was walking back to his hotel from an after-party when the first shot was fired at him. He claimed the attackers then chased him to his hotel. When he stepped outside with a hotel staff member, he was shot at again. The staff reportedly saw the gun, while Prasad saw the bullet impacts.
Prasad criticized the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) for misclassifying the case as “use of fireworks,” calling their response “callous” and demanding a proper investigation.
He wrote, “I’m happy to be proven wrong. One interesting theory that was suggested to me was that they lobbed fireworks and we couldn’t see them. If that’s the case,a proper investigation will rule this. For now, I don’t rule out it could have been fireworks but I trust myself & hotel staff.”
Regretting his decision to walk, Prasad stated he would never travel in San Francisco after midnight again. “Never going out again in this city after midnight… I regret walking back and not Ubering,” he wrote.
Prasad is the CEO of Quantum Generative Materials. He is based in Toronto.
