Duties and Responsibilities: • Monitor Human Resources functions and help develop and implement Corporate HR policies. • Maintain and update employee records, including new hire information and/or changes in employment status, along with organizational charts and detailed job descriptions. • Process employees’ queries and respond in a timely manner. • Stay up-to-date and comply with changes in labor legislation. • Manage Workers Compensation. • Conduct Workers Compensation audits and ensure compliance. • Ensure all required housing and property management certifications, licenses, and training are current and in compliance. •Maintain records of employee certifications, licenses, and required training. • Manage Employee Handbook (enforcement, updates/revisions). • Audit records for completeness, accuracy and conformance with policies and procedures. • When appropriate and necessary, coordinate and interact with federal and state agencies on issues pertaining to employee compensation, general deductions, benefits and retirement. • Other duties as needed or directed by supervisor. • Review, calculate, verify and process payroll, along with all other payroll-related records and documentation (e.g., auditing and reconciling the payroll register, reviewing and evaluating payroll forms and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance, and recommending and implementing necessary adjustments or corrections). Monitor, evaluate and resolve payroll-related problems or questions. • Moniter W-2 Administration and process W-4 tax data and changes in personnel data. • Help prepare accounting records and reports such as State and Federal Income Tax reports. • Process garnishments (e.g., child support, tax levies, student loans) and WRIT of garnishments. • Complete appropriate forms for special wage/salary payouts and adjustments or to correct or balance a special situation. • Recommend and assist/participate in the development of new policies or procedures regarding payroll operations to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. • Regularly compile, evaluate and report financial, tax and payroll data, for both internal and external purposes, and make recommendations for improvement when necessary or appropriate. •Experience with PEO (Professional Employer Organization) services preferred Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree with at least two-to-three years of work experience in Human Resources & Payroll in a Property Management company. • Excellent MS Office (Excel, Outlook and Word) knowledge/skills. • Experience in using ADP and Property Management Software/SaaS (preferably Yardi). • Professional, calm, highly-organized and coachable. • Must be able to handle and maintain work confidentiality and privacy.
