East Brunswick Lights Up With State-Of-The-Art Cricket Pitch

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ – Cricket enthusiasts in East Brunswick celebrated a significant milestone with the grand opening of New Jersey’s first lighted cricket pitch at Heavenly Farms. Mayor Brad Cohen inaugurated the new turf field on April 25, striking the first ball to the enthusiastic cheers of a large gathering.

The state-of-the-art cricket facility, is the result of a collaborative effort by Mayor Brad Cohen, the Township Council, and the East Brunswick Department of Recreation and Parks, led by Mike Reissner. At the opening ceremony, Reissner and County Clerk Nancy J. Pinkin highlighted East Brunswick’s commitment to preserving open space while expanding accessible and diverse sports opportunities within the community. Mayor Cohen emphasized the township’s openness to growth and change.

The event drew the presence of numerous local officials, including Council Members Dinesh Behal, Dana Zimbicki, Kevin McEvoy; Board of Education President Heather Guas; and representatives from the Asian American Pacific Islander group of East Brunswick.

Ronnie Li and Dax Patel, founders of the East Brunswick Cricket Club, also attended the celebration of this new recreational avenue.
