NEW YORK, NY (with news agency reports) – Donald Trump has made history as the first person who will hold the office of U.S. president as a convicted felon. On January 10, a U.S. court upheld his conviction in a hush money case, sentencing him to an “unconditional discharge.” The ruling came after the conservative-majority Supreme Court allowed the case to proceed, dismissing Trump’s last-minute efforts to avoid sentencing.

Donald Trump was found guilty in May 2024 on 34 counts of falsifying business records to cover up payments made to adult film star Stormy Daniels. The payments, aimed at silencing Daniels about an alleged affair ahead of the 2016 presidential election, were deemed fraudulent. While these charges typically carry a potential four-year prison sentence, Trump’s election as president has shielded him from incarceration or penalties.

“The only lawful sentence that permits entry of a judgment of conviction without encroaching on the highest office of the land is an unconditional discharge,” said New York Judge Juan Merchan during the sentencing. He acknowledged the unprecedented nature of the case, stating, “Never before has this court been presented with such a unique and remarkable set of circumstances.”

The judge clarified that the Constitution grants immunity to the presidency, precluding any punitive measures that might interfere with Trump’s ability to assume office. Donald Trump , who attended the hearing virtually, avoided jail time and will return to the White House on January 20 to begin his second term.

During the proceedings, multiple witnesses testified against Donald Trump, detailing how he orchestrated the payments to Daniels to suppress damaging revelations during his 2016 campaign. Donald Trump, however, dismissed the case as a “setback for the New York court system” and maintained his innocence throughout the trial.

  • Trump is no longer a felon. He has served his time and paid his penalties for his crimes.

LOL at the Democrats who tried everything to get trump jailed and keep him out of the WH, including a rigged election, attempts to kill him and creating divisions.

Waiting to see how another organization like BLM and ANTIFA is mobilized to burn another city.

  • The first guy I voted for in the Presidential election, Bill Clinton, paid $800K to Paula Jones to silence her. Then he “raped”Monica Lewinsky in the compound of White House. He managed to amass $300M fortune for his foundation with all the reeking of corruption with his wife.

    No one went after him/them!

  • congratulations to Mr. Trump: He very well survived from assassination attacks and from any jail term and fines. I am not sure how much truth is there in the details of his convictions. The lady who complained against him and received judgment in her favor need to be asked: did she not enjoy during the alleged allegations that she had relationship with Mr. Trump? Since she enjoyed, she should not have any complaint against Mr. Trump and should apologize for complaining and should return any money that she received.
