
Modi Calls Trump, Is Effusive In Hope For Future
NEW DELHI (ANI) – Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with U.S. President Donald Trump on January 27, reaffirming the commitment of both nations to a strong and mutually beneficial partnership.
Referring to Trump as “my dear friend,” PM Modi emphasized the shared goals of global peace, prosperity, and security. He also congratulated Trump on his historic second term in office.
“Delighted to speak with my dear friend President @realDonaldTrump @POTUS. Congratulated him on his historic second term. We are committed to a mutually beneficial and trusted partnership. We will work together for the welfare of our people and towards global peace, prosperity, and security,” Modi posted on X.
At the time of publication, the White House had not released a statement or readout of the conversation. This marks the first dialogue between the two leaders since Trump’s second-term inauguration on January 20.
Diplomats from both countries are reportedly working to schedule a meeting between Modi and Trump, potentially as early as February.
