Netflix Partners With Ekta Kapoor To Expand Indian Content

MUMBAI-Netflix has announced a new creative partnership with Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms to produce a diverse slate of films and series tailored for India’s varied audience. The deal will leverage Balaji’s expertise in Hindi entertainment and Netflix’s global reach.

Speaking at the announcement event, Ekta Kapoor, an International Emmy Award-winning producer and a key figure in Indian television and film for over two decades, said the collaboration offers an opportunity to deliver “powerful, culturally rooted, and emotionally resonant stories to a global audience.” She called it “an exciting new chapter” to push creative boundaries.

This new agreement builds on an existing relationship between Netflix and Balaji Telefilms, which has already produced Kathal, Pagglait, and Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare. The upcoming slate includes an untitled series currently in advanced development. Financial terms were not disclosed.
